Understanding Danny Choo’s Free Patterns: A Treasure Trove for Sewing Enthusiasts

If you like to make 1/3-scale doll clothes and know about Smart Doll, then you might already be familiar with Danny Choo. As far as I know, Danny Choo is the only artist who generously offers a variety of free sewing patterns. These patterns are a great resource, but they don’t come with instructions (or so it seems).
The pattern instructions are provided as symbols. Below are the symbols used and their meanings. Understanding these symbols can help you with the steps to sew the patterns.

Download the PDF for the “Explanation” sheet above.

Please let me know in the comments below if you want a full video tutorial on making this pattern.

I’m new to Smart Dolls, but I don’t own one – YET! They are horrendously expensive when converting to South African Rands, I’m trying to save though so I can bring “Onward” and “Self be True” (Pear) home. And maybe a boy eventually.
Meanwhile, I’m gathering patterns and instructional videos to prepare for the homecoming, so would absolutely LOVE a video tutorial on making the Mirai Summer Uniform. I don’t think anyone has done one yet

    Thank you

Thank you! I plan to post one and also have plans to resize it for Pear. Their clothes are also costly, so I make my own.
